Dick Burnett turned to music for a living in 1907 after being blinded by a shotgun blast to the face. He took in a young orphan named Leonard Rutherford to help him while touring. Their unique style combined Burnett’s showmanship and sense of humor with Rutherford’s virtuoso fiddle playing. In addition to the recordings they released, the duo was heard for decades on the radio.
